Obscure Claws (Right Flank- Left Hand Shoulder Grab)

1. An attacker at 3 o'clock grabs your right shoulder with their left hand.

2. Step your right foot to 6 o'clock into a left neutral bow facing 12 o'clock as your right circles clockwise and claws your attacker's face. Follow through with your right arm and circle over your attacker's arm as a left inward claw strikes your attacker's face.

3. Immediately step your right foot to 12 o'clock into a right neutral bow as you execute a right uppercut to break your attacker's elbow joint.

4. Step to 12 o'clock with your left foot into a left inverted neutral bow. Pivot out into a right forward bow facing 4:30 as your right hand reverses its motion and circles as a right looping backfist to your attacker's right mastoid as you simultaneously execute a left inward horizontal palm strike to your attacker's solar plexus.

5. Follow through with your right hand and pivot into a right neutral bow as you execute a right outward inverted middle knuckle strike to your attacker's sternum.

6. Cross out to 10:30.



Encounter with Danger (Front- Two-Hand Push)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock pushes you with both hands.

2. Fall onto your back, slapping out on both sides to disperse the energy of the fall. As you fall, execute a left knife-edge kick to your attacker's groin.

3. Pivot, or roll to your left side to 9 o'clock as you execute a right knife-edge kick to your attacker's jaw.

4. Continue the roll rising on your left knee, face to 6 o'clock as you switch, propping yourself on your right knee as you execute a left rear kick to your attacker's midsection.

5. Pull the left foot back into a kneeling front crossover, stand and cross out to 6 o'clock.



Circling Destruction (Front- Left Step-Through Punch)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock comes at you with a left step-through punch.

2. Step your right foot to 12 o'clock into a right neutral bow as you execute a right inward parry followed by a left outward hooking parry (waiter's hand) to your attacker's left arm. Continue the motion of your right hand so that it executes a right outward backfist to your attacker's left ribs.

Grafting Flow
3. Step your left foot to 4:30 into a right forward bow facing 10:30 as you execute a left horizontal palm strike to your attacker's face. (Your right hand should be cocked at your right ear.)

4. Pivot into a right neutral bow as simultaneously have your left hand claw across your attacker's face as you execute a right inward handsword to the right side of your attacker's neck.

5. Execute a right front scoop kick to your attacker's groin as you simultaneously thrust a left palm strike to your attacker's left kidney with a right two-finger scoop to your attacker's eyes.

6. Land back to 4:30 into a left neutral bow and cross out. Note: I have seen this ending done differently, so the option is being listed. From your right front scoop kick and eye hook, come crashing back down into a right neutral bow facing 10:30 as you execute a right inward elbow and a left palm strike to your attacker's head. Then cross out.



Detour From Doom (Front- Right Round Kick)

1. An attacker from 12 o'clock comes at you with a right round kick.

2. From a right neutral bow facing 12 o'clock, step your left foot to 4:30 (up the circle) into a right cat stance as you simultaneously execute a left downward block to the inside of your attacker's right leg as you thrust a right vertical punch to your attacker's face.

Grafting Flow
3. Execute a right front kick to your attacker's groin.

4. Land into a right neutral bow facing 10:30 as you instantly pivot into a forward bow executing a left vertical punch to your attacker's solar plexus while checking on top of your attacker's arms with a right horizontal forearm check.

5. Execute a right backfist to your attacker's stomach as your left foot shifts to 3 o'clock into a right neutral bow facing 9 o'clock.

6. Hook your left hand downward on the back of your attacker's neck as you circle your right arm counterclockwise and execute a right inward overhead hammerfist down on to your attacker's neck.

7. Cross out to 4:30.



Squatting Sacrifice (Rear- Bear Hug; Arms Free)

1. An attacker at 6 o'clock grabs you in a bear hug; yet leaves your arms free.

2. Step your right foot to 3 o'clock into a horse stance as you execute right and left outward overhead elbow down onto your attacker's forearms.

3. Squat down onto your attacker's right knee. Bend over and with both hands, grab your attacker's ankle. Shift into a concave stance as you pulls up on your attacker's right ankle to force them to fall onto their back. Note: The pull and squat could break your attacker's knee due to the counterforce prior to the fall. In addition, the concave stance is used to protect yourself from pulling your attacker's leg into your groin.

4. Twist your attacker's right ankle clockwise as you have your right leg circle clockwise (preferably striking them in the face if possible) landing to 7:30 into a right reverse close kneel stance.

5. Pivot into a right forward bow as you complete the twisting of your attacker's right ankle.

6. While maintaining your grab on your attacker's right ankle with your right hand, step your left foot to 4:30 into a left close kneel stance parallel to your attacker's body as you have your left hand grab your attacker's left wrist.

7. Support your weight on your left leg as you cock your right leg high.

8. Pull up on your attacker's wrist and leg as you execute a right heel stomp to your attacker's lower spine.

9. Sweep your attacker's left arm out as you go into a right front crossover to 4:30 and cross out.



Escape from Death (Rear- Right Arm Choke)

1. An attacker at 6 o'clock chokes you with their right arm.

2. Step your right foot to 3 o'clock into a horse stance facing 12 o'clock as you turn your head to the left to tuck your chin while your right hand grabs your attacker's right wrist. As you settle into your stance, pull down on your attacker's right wrist as you execute a left back elbow strike to your attacker's solar plexus. Immediately execute a left back hammerfist to your attacker's groin.

3. Step your left leg around and behind your attacker's right leg to 7:30 as you drop into a left close kneel as you deliver a right hammerfist to your attacker's groin and a left hammerfist to your attacker's left kidney.

4. Circle your left hand over your attacker's right shoulder and grab hold of the hair or philtrim. [Use this to fulcrum your attacker's head back, using the shoulder as the fulcrum point.]

5. Pivot into a left forward bow facing 7:30 as execute a palm strike to your attacker's face while executing a left sliding check down your attacker's right arm.

6. Execute a right knee strike to the outside of your attacker's right thigh.

7. Plant your right foot back to 1:30. Cross out.



Brushing the Storm (Flank- Right Step-Through Overhead Club)

1. An attacker at 3 o'clock comes at you with a right step-through overhead club attack.

2. Step your right foot to 1:30 into a right neutral bow as you simultaneously execute a left inward parry to your attacker' right arm and execute a right palm strike to your attacker's face. Note: Your right arm should end up under and inside of your attacker's right arm.

3. Step your left foot to 1:30 into a left close kneel as you execute a right vertical inward elbow to your attacker's solar plexus.

4. Execute a right underhand palm strike to your attacker's groin. (Your left hand should still maintain its check on the right arm.)

5. Step your right foot to 1:30 into a left neutral bow facing 7:30 as you pull your attacker's right leg to you simultaneous with your left hand pushing on your attacker's right hip. (This should bend them over.)

6. Execute a left front kick to your attacker's groin.

7. Plant your left foot forward and execute a right knife-edge kick to your attacker's left knee.

8. Cross out to 1:30.



Menacing Twirl (Rear- Left Hand Belt Grab)

1. An attacker at 6 o'clock grabs your belt with their left hand.

2. Step your right foot to 7 o'clock into a right rear twist stance. Pivot clockwise into a right forward bow facing 6 o'clock as you simultaneously execute a right downward block to the inside of your attacker's left wrist with a left palm strike to your attacker's chin.

3. Execute a left knee strike to your attacker's groin as your right hand checks high at your attacker's shoulder while your left hand checks low on your attacker's right arm.

4. Land forward with your left foot and instantly execute a right knee kick to 4:30 to your attacker's right inner thigh. (During this motion, slide your right hand down your attacker's chest to solar plexus level as you left hand cross checks to your attacker's chest.

5. From the right knee kick, execute a right stomp to your attacker's right instep as you execute a right inward diagonal elbow strike to the left side of your attacker's jaw.

6. Cross out to 1:30.



Leap from Danger (Rear- Two-Hand Push)

1. An attacker at 6 o'clock pushes you with both hands.

2. As you attacker pushes you, take a forward roll on your right shoulder to 12 o'clock. Leap up into a left neutral bow facing 6 o'clock.

3. As your attacker then proceeds to attack you with a right punch, leap to 4:30 with your left foot and execute a right round kick to your attacker's solar plexus. (Your left hand should be guarding low, right like an extended outward block.)

4. Plant your right foot to 7:30 as a gauging leg. Pivot counterclockwise and execute a left spinning rear kick to your attacker's right ribs.

5. Cross out to 1:30.



Circles of Protection (Front- Right Step-Through Overhead Punch)

1. An attacker from 12 o'clock comes at you with a right step-through overhead punch.

2. Step your left foot to 12 o'clock into a left forward bow as you simultaneously execute a right upward block under and outside your attacker's right punch. [Meet the force first, then ride the force.]

3. Shift into a left neutral bow as you execute a left upward ripping claw to your attacker's face (under your attacker's right arm).

4. Continue circling your left arm counterclockwise as you force your attacker's right arm down to the right of their body. Simultaneous with this motion, continue the clockwise circle of your right hand as you execute a right underhand claw to your attacker's groin. (Your left hand should now be on top of your attacker's right forearm.)

5. Instantly execute a left backfist to your attacker's face as you simultaneously push-drag forward and pull on your attacker's testicles with your right hand.

6. Cross out to 6 o'clock.



Circle of Doom (Front- Right Step-Through Front Kick)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock comes at you with a right step-through front kick.

2. From a right neutral bow facing 12 o'clock, with your right arm hang naturally. Pivot into a right reverse bow as you execute a right inward downward (palm down) block in and up against your attacker's right leg. Continue to circle your right arm clockwise into a right extended outward block as you force your attacker's leg out.

3. Immediately execute a right rear heel hook to your attacker's groin.

4. Plant your right foot as a gauging leg and execute a left spinning hook kick up to your attacker's head.

5. Land in a left front crossover and cross out to 4:30.



Broken Gift (Front- Handshake)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock grabs your right hand with their right hand.

2. Step your left foot to 12 o'clock into a left neutral bow facing 12 o'clock as your left hand grabs your attacker's hand and execute a left upward flapping elbow under the joint of your attacker's right elbow.

3. Step your left foot to 6 o'clock into a right neutral bow facing 12 o'clock as you jerk your attacker's right arm down past your left hip.

4. As you settle into the right neutral bow, execute a right backfist to your attacker's right temple.

5. Step your left foot to 4:30 into a right neutral bow facing 10:30 as you execute a left inward elbow to your attacker's left jaw.

6. Cross out to 4:30.



Heavenly Ascent (Front- Two-Hand Choke; Arms Straight)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock chokes you with both of their hands.

2. Step your right foot to 12 o'clock into a right neutral bow as you clasp your hands together and execute two upward wedging forearm strike to the inside of your attacker's forearms to break the choke.

3. Pivot slightly to your left as your right wedge becomes a right upward elbow strike to your attacker's chin. (Hands are still clasped together until this strike.)

Grafting Flow
4. Release your clasp and pivot back into a right neutral bow facing 12 o'clock as you execute a right downward elbow to your attacker's sternum. This becomes a right downward backfist to your attacker's face.

5. Immediately execute a left overhand claw to your attacker's face as you settle into a right forward bow facing 12 o'clock.

6. Pivot back into a right neutral bow facing 12 o'clock as you execute a right half-fist uppercut to your attacker's throat as your left hand slides down your attacker's right arm and pulls down past your left ribs.

7. Cross out to 7:30.


Capturing the Storm (Front- Right Step-Through Club)

1. An attacker from 12 o'clock comes at you with a right step-through overhead club.

2. Step your left foot to 11 o'clock into a horse stance facing 12 o'clock as your execute an upward cross block (right over left) so that it wedges against your attacker's right wrist. Note: Angle the cross block off to 1:30 so a club doesn't get dropped on your head (or get out of the line of attack.)

Grafting Flow
3. Without hesitation grab your attacker's right wrist with both of your hands as you control and guide your attacker's right arm down in a clockwise circle so that your attacker's club strikes against their own right knee.

4. Continue to circle your attacker's right arm clockwise as you step to 10:30 with your right foot while guiding your attacker's right arm (with club) up and over your left shoulder.

5. Retain the grab with your left hand as your right hand grabs the free end of the club.

6. Circle your left foot counterclockwise as it plants to 10:30 into a right neutral bow facing 4:30. As you settle into your stance, you will be holding your attacker's right arm in front of you, strike down with the club to the back of your attacker's right elbow. Note: After this, some teach the extension where you take the club to the back of your attacker's head, the front and then the back of their knee, finished with a left leg sweep to 6 o'clock with a right inward strike to your attacker's forehead.

7. (Normally, without the extras) Cross out to 12 o'clock.



Conquering Shield (Front- Left Hand Lapel Grab; Stiff-Arm)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock grabs your lapel with their stiffened left arm.

2. Pin your attacker's left hand to your chest with your left as you simultaneously execute a right inward vertical forearm strike against your attacker's left elbow and execute a right front kick to your attacker's right inner knee. Note: This forearm strike will glance up, possibly into a punch to the face.

3. Land your right foot to 12 o'clock into a right neutral as you utilize marriage of gravity striking down with a right downward elbow to your attacker's left forearm.

4. As your attacker's head comes down, execute a right upward elbow strike.

5. Reverse the motion and execute a right downward elbow to your attacker's chest followed with a right overhead claw to your attacker's face.

6. Cross out towards 4:30.



Taming the Mace (Front- Right Step-Through Punch)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock comes at you with a right step-through punch. Note: Most train this and have you pretend there is a wall behind you.

2. Step your left foot to 11 o'clock as you execute a left inward parry to the outside of your attacker's punch. As you settle into the stance, execute a right inward handsword to your attacker's right biceps.

3. Execute a right backfist to your attacker's temple as your left hand grabs your attacker's right wrist.

4. Grab your attacker's right shoulder with your right hand and anchor your elbows and hug close. This will cancel your attacker's height and depth zones.

5. Step your left foot back to 4:30. Pivot counterclockwise and slam your attacker against the wall.

6. As your attacker hits the wall, simultaneously execute a right knee strike to your attacker's groin with a right inward elbow strike to your attacker's throat.

7. Land back into a left neutral bow. Pull your left foot to your right and pivot, executing a right rear kick to your attacker.

8. Cross out to 10:30.



Twirling Sacrifice (Full Nelson)

1. An attacker at 6 o'clock puts you in a full nelson.

2. Stiffen your body and force your neck back. (This will cause your attacker to concentrate on keeping your head forward.) Take advantage of this by stepping your right foot to 3 o'clock into a horse stance facing 12 o'clock.

3. Slide your left to your right into a transitional cat stance. Immediately step your left foot to 7:30 behind your attacker's right leg. As you bend over borrowing your attacker's force, have your arms directly grab to the back of your attacker's knees. (Right to right, left to left).

4. Turn counterclockwise as you lift your attacker's legs off the ground. You will step your left foot to 4:30 followed by your right foot to 6 o'clock followed by your left to 7:30.

5. Cross out to 1:30. Note: There is a reason this is nicknamed the Nothing Technique.



Cross of Death (Front- Two-Hand Cross Choke)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock chokes you with their left hand over their right.

2. Step your right foot to 12 o'clock into a right neutral bow facing 12 o'clock as you buckle to the inside of your attacker's right knee. Simultaneous with this move, pin across your attacker's hands with your left hand while you execute a right glancing inward forearm strike that hits your attacker's left elbow and becomes a right vertical punch to your attacker's face.

3. Pivot into a right forward bow facing 12 o'clock as you execute a left uppercut to your attacker's stomach while your right arm checks both of your attacker's arms down.

4. Step your left foot to 4:30 as you execute a right extended outward hooking parry to the outside of your attacker's left arm. As you settle into a right neutral bow facing 10:30, execute a right chopping punch to your attacker's left kidney.

5. Immediately execute a right vertical back knuckle to your attacker's left temple as your left hand checks your attacker's arms.

6. Cross out to 4:30.



Securing the Storm (Front- Right Step-Through Round Club)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock comes at you with a right step-through round club.

2. Step to 12 o'clock with your left foot into a left neutral bow facing 12 o'clock as you execute a left extended outward block to the inside of your attacker's right wrist simultaneous with a right vertical punch to your attacker's face.

3. Slide your right foot back to 10:30 into a left neutral bow facing 4:30 as you execute a left uppercut around and under your attacker's left arm.

4. Shift your left foot back to 11 o'clock while still pinning your attacker's arm. Circle your right foot clockwise so it goes around and behind your attacker's right leg. Thrust your right leg to 6 o'clock into a left forward bow facing 12 o'clock as you execute a right palm strike to your attacker's jaw. (These simultaneous moves should buckle your attacker's leg and send them to the ground.) (Your left hand will also slide along your attacker's right arm as they fall to the ground.)

5. Cross out to 7:30.



Intercepting the Ram (Front- Tackle)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock tries to tackle you.

2. Hop forward on your left foot to 11 o'clock as you simultaneously execute a right knee kick to your attacker's solar plexus with a right inward overhead hammerfist to your attacker's right kidney. Your left hand will check at your attacker's right arm.

3. With your attacker's momentum forcing you backwards, drop your right foot to 6 o'clock into a left neutral bow facing 12 o'clock as you execute a left inward elbow strike to your attacker's upper spine. Your right hand will act as a sliding check.

4. Step your left foot to 4:30 into a right neutral bow as you execute a right inward downward diagonal punch that converts into a forearm elbow smash to the left side of your attacker's jaw.

5. Continue to pivot to your left as you execute a right rear heel scoop kick to the right side of your attacker's jaw.

6. Plant your right foot to 4:30 into a front crossover. Cross out.



Kneel of Compulsion (Right Flank- Right Step-Through Punch)

1. An attacker at 3 o'clock comes at you with a right step-through punch.

2. Step your right foot to 1:30 as you execute a left inward parry to the outside of your attacker's wrist followed by a right outward parry to the outside of your attacker's right elbow.

3. Step to 1:30 with your left foot as your right hand grabs your attacker's right shoulder. Pivot so as your left hand grabs the back of your attacker's left shoulder.

4. Immediately step your right foot back to 1:30 into a left neutral bow as you pull with both of your arms.

5. Execute a right step-through knife edge kick to your attacker's left knee, thus compelling him to kneel.

6. As you land forward to 7:30 in a right neutral bow, execute a right inward elbow with a left palm strike to sandwich your attacker's head.

7. Cross out to 3 o'clock.



Clipping the Storm (Front- Right Step-Through Thrusting Club)

1. An attacker from 12 o'clock comes at you with a right step-through thrusting club.

2. From a left neutral bow, step your left foot to 11 o'clock as you execute a left inward handsword to the outside of your attacker's right forearm. (Your right hand should be cocked at your right ear.)

Grafting Flow
3. Shift into a left neutral bow as you execute a right inward handsword strike to the outside of your attacker's right wrist. (Your left hand now cocks at your right ear.)

4. Step your right foot into a right cat stance as you execute a thrusting left outward hand sword to your attacker's throat. (Your right hand will slide down your attacker's right arm to check the top of their arm.)

5. Step behind your attacker's right leg with your right leg as you execute a right palm strike to your attacker's chin. (Your left hand will check at your attacker's upper right arm.)

6. Cross out to 7:30.



Glancing Wing (Front- Left Uppercut)

1. An attacker at 12 o'clock comes at you with a left uppercut.

2. From a right neutral bow, simultaneously execute a right inward block diagonally down onto the punch as you execute a left vertical punch to your attacker's face.

3. Without hesitation, hook your left hand down and out in a clockwise motion to the outside of your attacker's left arm as you execute a right punch to your attacker's left ribs.

4. Step your left foot to 4:30 into a right neutral bow facing 10:30 as your left hand hooks to the back of your attacker's neck.

5. With your attacker bending over, execute a right inward downward punch that becomes a forearm and elbow strike to the left side of your attacker's face.

6. Cross out to 4:30.



The Back Breaker (Right Flank- Right Step-Through Punch)

1. An attacker at 3 o'clock comes at you with a right step-through punch.

2. Step your right foot to 1:30 as you execute a left inward parry to the outside of your attacker's wrist followed by a right outward parry to the outside of your attacker's right elbow.

3. Step to 1:30 with your left foot as your right hand grabs your attacker's right shoulder. Pivot so as your left hand grabs the back of your attacker's left shoulder.

4. Immediately step your right foot back to 1:30 into a left neutral bow as you pull with both of your arms. Execute a right knee kick to your attacker's lower spine as you anchor your elbows in.

5. Land back to 1:30 into a left neutral bow as you increase your pull to cause your attacker to strike his upper spine on your left knee.

6. Grab your attacker's chin with your right hand as your left hand goes to the right side of their head. Twist your attacker's head clockwise, possibly breaking your attacker's neck.

7. Reverse the motion of your right hand and execute a right inward handsword to the bridge of your attacker's nose.

8. Execute two downward backfists to your attacker's left and right humorous (right to right; left to left)

9. As soon as the strikes land, step your left foot to 1:30 into a right close kneel as you execute two claws to your attacker's face.

10. Pivot counterclockwise into a right reverse close kneel as the right side of your foot strikes your attacker's right jaw hinge.

11. Execute a right heel stomp to your attacker's right shoulder. (This is done without lifting your right foot.)

12. Cross out to 1:30.
