Translated from Chinese by Lionel A. Giles, M.A. (1910) |
Since the term Kenpo originally was meant as a war-time art, it was only fitting that I include the oldest military treatise known in the world, The Art of War, by Sun Tzu. It also helps that this is public domain being 2400 years old and nearly a hundred years since it was brought to us by Mr. Giles. Since this is a long text and not everyone's computer has super-speed, this text is broken into its thirteen chapters, each with links below to take you further into it.
Chapter 3: Attack By Strategem
Chapter 4: Tactical Dispositions
Chapter 6: Weak Points and Strong
Chapter 8: Variation in Tactics
Chapter 9: The Army on the March
Chapter 11: The Nine Situations
