Angelo Collado


Mr. Angelo Collado is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. He is also considered one of Kenpo's top forms practitioners. Mr. Collado has earned this respect due to his many and impressive accomplishments as a Kenpo Karate competitor and practitioner in the USA and in Europe.

Mr. Collado began his training 25 years ago at the age of 14. Mr. Collado attained his 1st Degree Black Belt in Albuquerqure, New Mexico in 1987. After moving to Los Angeles in 1989, Mr. Collado met up with one of Mr. Ed Parker's black belts who in turn introduced him into the Ed Parker circles. Mr. Collado begin training under 1st Generation 6th Degree Black Belt Mr. Yosh "Jimmy" Furuya.
Over the course of the next 7 years Mr. Collado trained intensively under Mr. Yosh Furuya and with the "Old Timers" of the Ed Parker's Pasadena Studio . Each Friday evening at 8:00 PM, 13-20 Black Belts gathered together to workout, many of whom were of original 1st generation status. Mr. Collado also has the honor and privilege of training with Mr. Frank Trejo at his home in Pasadena. Other instructors Mr. Collado has trained with include Mr. Steve Aaron, Mr. Steve Herring, Mr. Phil Conti and Mr. Roger Meadows, Mr. Dave Thompson, Mr Paul Dye and Mr. Huk Planas. Mr. Collado continues to attend seminars and take private lessons from some of Kenpo's top instructors. In 1994, Mr. Collado opened a Kenpo Studio in Glendora CA with his instructor, Mr. Yosh Furuya.

Mr. Collado has been an athlete all of his life and continues to compete today. Mr. Collado has an extensive background in Exercise Physiology, Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. These skills only add to the understanding of , and applications of motion and anatomy and physiology. Mr. Collado has the knowledge to heal the injured, an important and valuable asset to his Kenpo Karate teaching and training. Mr. Collado has made four trips to Europe this year to compete in and teach and learn Kenpo Karate.
