Mr. Dan Laxson began studying American Kenpo in 1971, receiving his Black Belt from the International Kenpo Karate Association (IKKA) in 1976. Mr. Laxson was a student of Senior Grandmaster Edmund K. Parker as listed on the IKKA Family Tree. As a student of Mr. Parker, Mr. Laxson has earned the rare distinction of being known as a "First Generation Black Belt" in American Kenpo.

Professor Laxson spent 15 years as the owner and director of Personalized Protection Services, a company which specialized in executive and celebrity protection, and worked worldwide as a specialist in anti-terrorism. He also worked as Head of Security for the Saudi Royal Family for 12 years. He has also worked in conjunction with agents from the Secret Service, FBI, Department of Defense, and various branches of the military. Mr. Laxson was also a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch International and American Express, and is the Broker/Owner of Palm Properties, a Real Estate Brokerage.

Mr. Laxson is currently a 7th Degree Black Belt and is a student of Mr. Dave Hebler.

Mr. Laxson gives seminars and teaches worldwide, bringing to his students "real life" experiences and practical applications of American Kenpo Karate. Mr. Laxson is also a Director for Arklite Training and Security, International, a company which trains bodyguards and drivers for executive and celebrity protection.
