Dennis Nackord

Mr. Dennis Nackord began his professional karate training over thirty years ago and continues to teach from his home school in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. He has contributed to the opening of over 20 schools in his career and has promoted close to 150 black belts during that time.

He began his training in San Francisco in 1966 at a Tracy's Karate school. A year later, he began working with Senior Grandmaster Edmund K. Parker. In March of 1967, he received his Brown belt from Mr. Parker and then began to study under Mr. Joe Lewis. In late 1968, Mr. Nackord received his Black belt in Kenpo and Joe Lewis Fighting Systems.

In 1969, he moved to the East Coast to open a Kenpo school and continue to work with Mr. Lewis. It was during this time that he also began to work with Mr. Marty Feldman, a boxing instructor. During the 1970s, he was the head instructor for up to 15 affiliated schools.

In 1986, he received his 6th Degree Black belt from Mr. Parker. In April of 1996, Mr. Nackord received his 8th Deg. Black belt in Kenpo Karate. A couple years later, he received his 8th in Joe Lewis' Fighting Systems.

Mr. Nackord has studied American, Chinese, Japanese, Burmese, and Okinawan forms of martial arts. In his teachings he emphasizes that the principles underlying a movement are far more important than from what form or style of martial art it comes from. This is because proper principles run as a common thread throughout all good styles.

The Nackord Kenpo Karate System (NKKS) teaching methods are unique, effective, and time-tested. Although our methods retain all the important aspects of a traditional teaching system, the NKKS methods have been Americanized. In place of a rigid, dogmatic approach to teaching, the NKKS methods rely on an understanding of modern day situations and environments, while using practical demonstration. With over 30 years of experience our methods of teaching have been proven over and over again to produce highly skilled and knowledgeable students.
