Joe Doyle

Mr. Joseph P. Doyle is a 4th Degree Black Belt in American
Kenpo and has over twenty years of martial arts experience. He owns
a Kenpo school in the greater Cleveland area. Mr. Doyle was promoted
to his 1st Degree Black Belt through the Tracy's system and was promoted
to his 2nd and 3rd Degree Black Belt by the late Mr. Ed Parker, the
founder of American Kenpo. Mr. Doyle opened a Tracy Karate Studio franchise
in 1985. After attending seminars taught by Mr. Parker, he broke away
from the Tracy System and joined Mr. Parker's organization, the I.K.K.A.
so as to learn American Kenpo (Mr. Parker's System). After Mr. Parker's
death, Mr. Doyle joined the World Wide Kenpo Karate Association. He
was then promoted to his 4th Black in 1990 by Mr. Joe Palanzo the President
of the World Wide Kenpo Karate Association.
Currently Mr. Doyle works with Mr. Richard "Huk" Planas, a 9th Degree Black Belt, who was the Vice-President of the International Kenpo Karate Association before Mr. Parker's death. Mr. Doyle considers Mr. Planas to be the leading expert on the Parker Kenpo System. He also holds quarterly instructor camps at his Cleveland location with Mr. Planas leading the group. Mr. Doyle has also worked as an instructor for security guards and police officers. He has taught self-defense at a business college as part of their security guard program. He has developed an organized training system which enables the students to learn at an accellerated pace. His professional teaching methods have allowed his academies to be one of the largest in the state of Ohio. Mr. Doyle has been involved with many Kenpo organizations and is now currently the representative for the state of Ohio for the American Kenpo Karate Systems (A.K.K.S) which is run by Mr. Jeff Speakman. This organization has demonstrated a true desire to continue the teaching of the late Mr. Parker. The motto of the organization is "Lead by Example, Follow by Choice." Members joining this organization will have many positive role models to follow in their pursuit of American Kenpo Karate knowledge. Mr. Doyle is a veteran in local, state and national tournament competition. He enjoys competing in all areas of the martial arts. He is currently ranked in the SKI, NBL, and PKC organizations. He is the 1998 State of Ohio Champion for Black Belt Weapons Forms and Black Belt Self-Defense in the Professional Karate Commission (PKC) organization. Beside competition, Mr. Doyle also runs one of the largest tournaments in the State of Ohio. He has assisted or directed numerous tournaments and understands the competition arena. Mr. Doyle has been appointed to Co- Director for the State of Ohio's PKC Tournament Series. Much of this information is from the PKC website. |
