Mr. Angat was born July 5,1962 in Pasadena, California, attending the Channel Islands High School in Oxnard, California where he wrestled for two year.

After high school, he attended Oxnard College and Ventura College.

As for his martial arts career, he was promoted to 1st Deg. Black Belt in 1982 and to 2nd Deg. Black Belt in 1989. He has also attained a number of championships being the State Featherweight Champion for the Professional Karate Association in 1982. He began the World Featherweight Champion for the International Kick-Boxing Association in 1985 and won the Lightweight Title "Fight of the Year" from the International Sports Karate Association in 1988. In 1989 he became the World Lightweight Champion for the Fight Factory Karate Association.
