| Mr. Joseph Whelan has been training in the Martial Arts for over 26 years, in that time he has attained the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo under Grandmaster Paul Britton(a Chuck Sullivan and Vic Leroux student). he has also trained extensively in Isshinryu karate attaining a 5th Dan under Shihan Gonzales and Shihan Philip Ferguson, and also a 1st Dan in tae Kwon Do under Grandmaster Joong Jong Lee. he is a 2 time Florida Martial Arts Hall of Fame inductee as Master of the Year, but he was ultimately honored in 2008 when he was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame for his contributions in the art of American Kenpo. he presently serves as acting President of the United States Kenpo Karate Association ( http://www.uskka.com/) under his longtime friend Master James A. Tindall, and is also the founder of the International Kenpo Karate Academies (http://www.ikkakenpo.com/ ) an organization to help unite independent
kenpoist's together. He is honored to be a student of Grandmaster Paul Britton and looks forward to continuing his training under him in the years ahead. he presently owns and operates Three Dragon Kenpo Academy in Clermont Fl. where he teaches his 2 sons Daniel and Joshua. He also has a daughter Alyssa and has been married to his wife Louise for 16 years and counting.
