Ricardo Castillo's martial arts career has spanned 20 years and he has worked with instructors on Taekwon Do, Kenpo, and Japanese Karate. His success in the arts he attributes to his instructors, past and present, for helping grow to the level he currently is at.
Mr. Castillo currently holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tracy's Kenpo and a 3rd Dan from the International Taekwon-Do Federation as well. In addition to this, he also teaches Yang Style Tai Chi.
He began in the Tracy system in 1976 in Wichita Falls, TX under David Williams. (Incidently, this is before I was born-- JM) In 1983, he was introduced to Taekwon Do and was last promoted to 3rd Dan in 1992.
In 1993, he returned to Kenpo and obtained his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Degree Black Belts in the Tracy System of Kenpo.
Other items on his resume are that he has a Bachelor's in Science from Midwestern State University and a Master's of Science, Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Kinesiology from Texas A & M in Corpus Christi, Texas. He also certified as a Class "B" Referee in the International and United States Taekwon-Do Federations.
Currently Mr. Castillo is teaching in the Corpus Christi area and has a website as well here. In addition, he does enjoy visiting the KenpoNet website and giving Dennis Conatser a hard time on the KenpoNet Forum.
