Tony Cogliandro

Mr. Tony Cogliandro has been in the martial arts for over 30 years and is currently an 8th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo. He was a student of Sr. Grandmaster Edmund K. Parker from 1983 until Mr. Parker's death in December of 1990. He was one of the few who personally pioneered American Kenpo into the northeast, being Northeast Director for the IKKA; during this time, the number of schools increased from 13 to over 50. During his time in the northeast, Mr. Cogliandro has been a member of numerous martial arts federations, including the Connecticut Martial Arts Federation and the North American Karate Conference, of which he was the New England Representative. He has also promoted events, such as the Boston Internationals in the 80's and 90's and the Maine International Karate Championships from 2002 to present. Since the death of Mr. Parker, Mr. Cogliandro founded the AKI (American Kenpo International). The association currently has over 60 schools worldwide that it is affiliated with.
